Breeds

Ile De France

We have taken the plunge and purchased some pedigree'd animals. These are some of the very few found in the US that actually have papers to track lineage to determine what percent they are.

Ile de France are larger, smooth bodied naturally polled sheep. They are known for adding carcass and terminal traits into flocks.

Horned Dorsets

Dorsets are long bodied with white fleece both male and female have horns. They are known for their maternal ability, milking and known to breed out of season. They are dual purpose as they are fast growing, efficient and moderate sized.

Our flock consists of some Coyote acres genetics (Canada) and from Oregon consisting of Humprey, Robinson, and Janicki bloodlines.

All these sheep are production not show style or type.

East Fresians

This breed originate in the Friesland of Holland and Germany. Its is know at the dairy cow of the sheep world. They have been selected for years for high milk yield and duration. They are a docile and dual purpose used to increase flock fecundity and milking ability. The mature ewe flock in the uk averages 242% lambs weaned under natural conditions.

Most fresians in the USA are cross bred since there has been no imports of embryos. We have decided that purchasing pure animals would benefit not only us but others that want to increase their milk and just add to the pure % of the animals that are offered in the US. We are planning to bring some of the very first imported pure East Fresians from Canada in 2025. Look for more info and updates!

Finns

The Finn are native to Finland. They have long lustrous wool sought after by hand spinners. They are also know for large litters 3-5 being common. They mature early and breed out of season with some ewes also being selected for milking.

Commercial Dorset Finns

These ewes have been selected specifically for maternal, production, and out of season breeding. They make up the largest group of sheep we run. They are half Finn and half Dorset. These ewes have easily raised triplets without supplements. Some ewes have even carried quads and raised three as we allowed and bottle fed the extra. The ewes were not grained or given additional feed for number of fetuses carried.
